I am a fan of food. I love to cook, eat and do dishes. Well, maybe not the dishes but they are worth it after a meal has been made. It has come to my attention that the food we eat isn’t so healthy. I mean I know this, but I didn’t really know this. Or maybe I dont want to know this.
I was shocked last week when I saw an article about nutrition. The label the nutritionist she had as the example was for a can of juice.

I realized that there were 34 grams of sugar and there were 34 grams of carbs.
So I started to investigate this label a little more.
16 oz. 2- 8 oz per serving.
34g sugar x 2 = 64 grams of sugar
Hmm I started to wonder how many grams of sugar are in a teaspoon?
Uh oh.
This juice.. made of water, hibiscus, (rosas de Jamaica ) and sugar.

Do you know what is in your food.. really?

Parents, too, lack any real literacy in nutrition and health.

You've been trying to eat less sodium — just a pinch of table salt on your baked potato and a dash on your scrambled eggs. But a pinch here and a dash there can quickly add up to unhealthy levels of sodium. Consider that just one teaspoon of table salt has 2,325 milligrams (mg) of sodium. And it's not just table salt you have to worry about. Many processed and prepared foods already contain lots of sodium.

Yes, mushrooms are a fungus. We may put them in everything from spaghetti sauce to sushi, but an abundance of varieties have proven themselves to be more than just great tasting, they’re also great for your health.
